1462 - Error: Could not initialise COM library

Symptom

A backup fails with the error 'Could not initialise COM library'.

Error: Backup failed: Could not initialise COM library (0x80070583; for more information 
please check the Windows event log for related events)

Solution

The workaround for this is to change the Redstor Pro ESE service user to a domain administrator. To do this:

1. Stop the Redstor Pro ESE service.
2. Right click the service and go to Properties.
3. Open the Log On tab.
4. Change the service user from Local System account to a domain administrator.
5. Restart the service.
