To update a Storage Platform:
- Make copies of the installation directory (default location C:\Program Files\Attix5 Pro) and the ProgramData location (default C:\ProgramData\Attix5 Pro). This is required for rollback purposes.
- Download the following files for the latest Platform version from our Downloads section:
- Storage Platform installer (msi)
- Storage Platform Console (exe)
- Storage Platform SE/DL Client Update (exe)
- ESE Client Update (exe)
- ESE Brand Update (exe)
- We also recommend consulting our latest release notes.
- Run the Storage Platform installer. Wait for the installation to complete.
- Run the Console executable. Wait for the installation to complete.
- Log into the Console and check the status of the environment. Specifically, check that the AccountServer (and any StorageServers that reside on the same server as the AS) have been updated.
- If everything is in order, you can now update the remaining StorageServer(s) from the Console by going to Help > Manage Updates.
- In the Console's Storage Platform Configuration view, check that the remaining StorageServers have been updated.
- Install the Agent (client) and brand updates.
- (optional) Test the Agent updates by running a backup or connecting to the Platform from a “friendly” DL backup Agent (see FAQ 003). If this is successful, the update is complete.
- Clean up the copies that were made in Step 1.
- Use the Deployment Wizard in the Console to update any deployment files to the latest version for future Agent installs.
