1309 - Reports scheduled by SP admin account do not run on v20.8

Symptom

On the v20.8 Storage Platform, scheduled reports fail to run, with the following errors seen in the AccountServer logs:

08:05:00.258 (59) Error: An error occurred in the report scheduler for schedule Backup Report generating the BackupsIn24SEDetailedGroup report. Please make sure the parameters are configured correctly. Access user admin does not exist. System.Exception: Access user admin does not exist at Attix5.StoragePlatform.AccountServer.ReportServer.ReportManager.RunScheduledReports()
08:48:59.687 (34) Error: Error while executing concurrent action: Access user admin does not exist. System.Exception: Access user admin does not exist

Cause

The issue is only seen if the user was logged into the Console as Admin (the Storage Platform's built-in administrator) when these scheduled reports were created.

Solution 

Installing the v20.9 Storage Platform or later will resolve the issue.

Recommendation

We are planning enhancements to the Platform which will make it impossible for the built-in administrator to schedule reports or allow logins remotely (only localhost logins will be allowed). For the time being, we recommend creating a user with top-level access for performing admin tasks, such as creating reports, as indicated in our Storage Platform installation guide.
