The ESE backup client gives you the ability to apply bandwidth limits to data transfer during backups. This ensures that bandwidth is shared equally among competing services, especially if backups are run during business hours. By default (i.e. if no limits are specified), the client will not apply any limitations and will transfer data at the best possible speed.
How to configure speed limits
Speed limits are configured by going to Options > Backups > Speed Limit.
Six different limits can be set in kilobytes per second (KB/s), and each limit can then be applied to the 24/7 timetable. Days/times are specified for each of the limits according to its colour, using the mouse as a paintbrush to make selections.
