Configuring a StorageServer mainly entails setting up mirroring for redundancy purposes. Once the MirrorServer has been created, open the Storage Platform Console in the Storage Platform Configuration view. Right-click the name of the StorageServer you wish to configure and select Configure StorageServer. Use the tabs according to the guide below to set your preferences.
Page contents
Mirror To
Select Mirror this StorageServer or click Add Mirror to specify the details of a different server.
The Storage Platform master password is the default option for access to the StorageServer. If you do not wish to make use of the master password, select Use Mirror Account details instead. (For more on Mirror Accounts, see Article 1105.)
Mirror Schedule: Specify the mirroring frequency.
Create Catch-up: See Article 1113.
2. Mirror From
Select the access credentials to be used for this connection (Master Password and/or Mirror Accounts).
Use the Add, Edit and Delete buttons to create and manage a list of accounts that will be allowed to mirror to this StorageServer.
Receive Catch-up: This field is used in the mirror catch-up functionality (see Article 1113).
3. HSM
HSM (Hierarchical Storage Management) enables you to move roll-ups before they are deleted. (For more information on roll-ups, see Article 106.) Roll-ups saved in HSM format can be archived to an external drive or network share and moved back to the live Storage Platform if data has to be recovered from a backup set that is no longer available.
Choose the Directory HSM format if you wish to store the roll-up data in its original directory structure.
Alternatively, select Tar File to compress each roll-up into a single .tar file, speeding up the transfer to the destination directory.
HSM folders: Specify the import and export locations for the HSM data. Please ensure that the directories specified have enough space to accommodate the data. To learn how to make this data available for restore via the Agent, see Article 1114.
4. Bindings
Select which IP address the AccountServer should bind to. (This option is only enabled if more than one IP address is available.)
Note: For advanced settings, you will need to edit the StorageServer's settings.xml file (default location C:\ProgramData\Redstor Backup Pro\SS_Service). For more on advanced settings, see Article 1205.
