Symptom
A backup fails with the following error
ERROR : Backup failed: Your backup limit of 100,00 GB has been exceeded by 0,70 GB.
Alternatively, a backup completes with the following warning:
WARN : Your backup limit of 100,00 GB has been exceeded by 0,70 GB, but this has been
allowed temporarily.
Cause
This happens when a backup exceeds its account's allotted storage use. If no overspill has been allowed for the account, the backup will fail. If some overspill has been allowed, the backup will complete, but a warning will be displayed.
To view an account's storage limit in the RedApp:
1. Navigate to the relevant company and click on Machines in the sidebar.
2. Click on the relevant folder in the sidebar.
3. Locate the Storage limit column entry for the relevant account.
If this column is not present, click on the column icon at the top right of the machines table to customise your display.
Tick the box for Storage limit and click Apply.
You can also view an account's storage limit in the Storage Platform Console by going to the Account Management view. Locate the relevant account and check the Account Usage column.
Solution
To prevent this error in future, increase the storage limit for the account by following the steps in Article 1024.
