Q: | When will CBT be considered fully released and not in Preview? |
A: | In v19.3 it will come out of preview. |
Q: | When using CBT, can we request an option to run backup every 15min etc instead of selecting each day and specifying times for each day? |
A: | Right now the interface does not allow for a repeating schedule. |
Q: | When profiling CBT can we set the default to continue the backup instead of failing the backup by default? |
A: | You can profile CBT. Go into the group, in the profiling tab, then Performance – Advanced. However you cannot set the fail behaviour at the moment. We will log a feature request. Update: The fail behaviour option is available in v19.7 |
Q: | What is the disk space requirement for the snapshot using Change Block Tracking? |
A: | It depends only on the amount of changes between backups. The more changes, the more space is required. If it runs out of VSS space the oldest VSS snapshot will fail in which case it will revert to a standard patch backup or abort the backup (depending on the selected behaviour). |
Q: | Is there a CBT release for a linux environment? |
A: | No because it relies on a VSS library, it is not suitable for a linux environment. |
Q: | Can I backup a Linux Shared Folder on the same version? |
A: | If you’re on Linux you can back up a Linux shared folder. If you are on a Windows box then you can backup up a shared SAMBA folder, but without VSS and therefore CBT support, since Windows does not support VSS on shared folders. |
