Symptom
InstantData Permanent requires the file system that you are restoring to to support sparse files and reparse points. These features are offered by NTFS and ReFS file systems but not by FAT, FAT32, or exFAT. The following error will be presented if the file system of the target volume you have selected does not support the required features:
InstantData could not restore to F:\
The target file system is not supported.
Solution
Do one of the following to enable restoring to the specific volume:
1. If the volume is empty, format the volume as NTFS.
2. Otherwise, use the convert
command to convert the volume to NTFS. See Microsoft's guide here.
