Enterprise Server Edition
- Redstor Backup Pro is now Redstor Pro.
- Existing ESE clients will auto update to the new branding (Images & App name), installation path remains Redstor Backup Pro
- New ESE installations will install to Redstor Pro
Note: Both the v18.3 ClientUpdate and BrandUpdate must be installed to allow the auto upgrade to v18.3 - ESE support for 32-bit Windows (Also see SE to ESE conversion below):
- Windows 7 32-bit
- Windows 8 32-bit
- Windows 8.1 32-bit
- Windows 10 32-bit
- A new System Tray application that makes use of a REST interface, doing away with the old error prone framework.
- The new Tray functions similar to the old one: right-click menu options and notifications.
- It is split from the Service, and does no longer require administrator privileges
- Items that are globally excluded (Options > Global Exclusions) will be logged in the backup log.
- Archiving improvements:
- Re-stub partially hydrated files
- Report estimated saving when running archive in "Calculate savings" mode
- Improved logging
- Retry the backup once if it failed due to a VSS error condition.

Backup payload connection based on new networking core over plain sockets (available for preview)

Storage Platform and SP Console
- Concurrent automatic account moves:
- Currently, if a Storage Pool is already busy with one account move or an account move is blocked for some reason, it will not queue another account move in the Storage Pool
- This feature will allow moving of accounts between StorageServer in the pool which are not currently busy sending or receiving an account.
- Conversion from SE to ESE: Support for 32-bit operating systems
Note:- Conversion of a 32-bit Server Edition running on a 64-bit operating system is not supported.
- A v18.2 or later ClientUpdate must be installed on the StorageServer to allow conversion or deployment of a 32-bit ESE msi.
- Consoles older that v18.1 will not be able to connect to a v18.3 or later Storage Platform.
- This is to ensure the Consoles in the field are up to date and contain the latest fixes and enhancements
- Consoles from v18.1 can be auto updated ensuring the latest and correct version is always in use (How to enable Console updates)
- The Console will provide feedback why the connection is blocked and that an upgrade is required
- The Storage Platform requires .Net Framework 4.6.1
- The Storage Platform installer will check if the min version is installed before proceeding.
- If v4.6.1 is not installed, the installer will redirect the user to Microsoft's .Net Framework Download page
