This article relates to Bug 34853 (still active) in Storage Platform release v20.9.
Symptom
When the command-line install argument (StorageServer.exe) is used to install or upgrade a second StorageServer or MirrorServer, a firewall rule for the new StorageServer.exe location will not be added automatically. The result is that the StorageServer cannot queue tasks on the MirrorServer. A log entry similar to the following can be seen in the Event Viewer:
Log Name: Application
Source: Storage Platform Installer
Date: 2020-09-09 08:06:14 AM
Event ID: 0
Task Category: None
Level: Error
Keywords: Classic
User: N/A
Computer: AutoSP
Description:
Unable to create firewall rule: IDispatch and IDispatchEx are not supported

</Event>
Solution
The workaround is to manually apply a rule to the firewall, allowing access to the StorageServer.exe.
