056 - Recovering Exchange mailboxes/items via Kroll Ontrack

Background

Kroll Ontrack Power Controls (an optional add-on to Redstor Online Backup Plus) - It is a GUI based recovery option which makes performing single item restores with Backup Plus as simple as "drag and drop". There are some prerequisites that need to installed prior to using Kroll Ontrack. 

Prerequisites

• Please find the prerequisites here (also attached).
• Installation media and licence file.

Installation

Once the prerequisites have been met the Ontrack client can be installed using the installation media and by following the on screen prompts.

Using Ontrack

Ontrack has the ability to read the restored edb's and log files that have been recovered using Redstor Online Backup Plus. For information on restoring Exchange data with Backup Plus please refer to the Redstor Online Backup Plus User Guide which can be found here.

For information on how to use Ontrack once you have restored the edb and associated log files to a staging location please see here (also attached).
