The Centrastor Agent for Windows has two modes of operation; "Standard" mode where the agent is managed by the device (laptop/desktop) administrator and "Mult-User" mode where a private instance of the agent is installed for each user of the device.
Where a device is used exclusively by one person the agent should be installed in Standard mode. In Multi-User mode agent processes are run independently for each user of the device. These processes continue to run in the background when a user logs out to ensure that file synchronisation remains active and current. Users have their own local folders synchronised with appropriate portal cloud folders. Users can have these folders synchronised to different virtual portals from the same device.
Multi-User mode has implications for agent troubleshooting. Users must be able to create separate logs relevant to their instance of the agent. Therefore, an additional "users" layer is created in the agent folder structure to accommodate. For example, on a Windows 7 or 8 device the following path exists:
Within the "users" folder are folders named after the users SID. These are the folders that contain per user, unique, configuration and log information.
To map the SIDs to account names run the following command from a Command Prompt Window:
wmic useraccount get name,sid
The output will display a table showing a name to SID mapping for all users of the device.
