The local speed vault serves as an onsite copy of your data backup data. It is is a complete copy of the data stored for your backup account in the Cloud. If enabled it is also the preferred recovery location in the event of restore activity as it is typically faster than recovering from the Cloud.
The local speed vault will adhere to data retention requirements defined within the account's product. By default this is 60 days.
- Open the Redstor Online Backup Plus Client GUI and navigate to Actions>Preferences>LocalSpeedVault
- Tick enable LocalSpeedVault and then either specify a local or network share as the destination path.
- Click Apply. The speed vault will now synchronise with the platform.
The above process also applies to Linux with the added step of first needing to mnt the vault location as a share. E.g. /mnt/vault. Having mounted the share within the operating system you can the access the Linux client via a Windows based machine to setup the SpeedVault as per the above.
