2023-11-15 | InstantData IDT and FSR restore problems (RESOLVED)

Symptoms:

• Attempts to recover data using the InstantData Temporary ('IDT') option: IDT virtual volume will mount and the user may be allowed to navigate the directories, but will be unable to copy data from the IDT instance.
• Attempts to recover data using the InstantData Full System Recovery ('FSR') option: Initiation will fail with the error "Unable to parse ASR document".

Scope:  InstantData Temporary (IDT), InstantData Full System Recovery (FSR); when connecting to StorageServer version 23.11.9.11381 .

Cause:  A software incompatibility in service components was discovered in production which was not detected in testing.

Status:  Resolved

Workarounds:

• Option 1: For Machines products, select the option Use transparent proxy in the InstantData recovery wizard when initiating an InstantData recovery session.
• Option 2: Use InstantData Permanent ('IDP') as an alternative.
