1503 - SP Console error: "This action may only be performed for Groups/Accounts that are beneath a Machines base-product collection"

Symptom

An attempt to create, delete, rename or move a Group/Collection or Account in the Storage Platform Console fails with the following error:

Cause

From Thursday 12 October 2023, it is no longer possible to create, delete, rename or move any Group/Collection or Account using the Console, with the exception of groups/collections under a Machines base product. Read more about group types in Article 1349.

Solution

Use the RedApp to create, delete, rename or move the Group/Collection or Account. Note that Groups are known as Folders in the RedApp. The RedApp should also be used for managing users, products and customers/partners.
