In the Server Edition Backup Client, a folder is included through profiling but a profiled global exclusion on a specific file type that resides in the same folder, the intended excluded files are incorrectly displayed with the inclusion icon.
Suppose the following conditions:
- In the SP Console, a global exclusion of the *.png files applied to a backup Group e.g. *.png
- A further inclusion is applied to the Group for a specific folder e.g. /home/Administrator/Documents
- On the Client machine, the included folder, /home/Administrator/Documents, contains an "image.png" file
In the SE Backup Client, the "image.png" file is shown as included but will actually be excluded. No warnings are given about this.
A bug exists that results in the profiled inclusion of the folder being "inherited" by child items, even those that are excluded through profiling, and is therefore displayed incorrectly.
Ensure that profiling inclusions/exclusions are unambiguous.
When the Global Exclusion for *.png files is specified in the Backup Client's options (screenshot below) instead of via profiling, the behaviour will be reversed. That is, the example image.png file would be included in the backup, and a correct icon displayed.
