Note: This issue is resolved in v22.214.171.12481
When attempting to upgrade the Account Server to 126.96.36.19912 (V8 R6), the following error is shown and the upgrade cannot proceed.
Error: Data is Null. This method or property cannot be called on Null values.
The Storage Platform database contains null entries in the BackupServer table for the ServerName field.
This is more likely to occur on Storage Platforms that have upgraded from version 5.1 or been built using an early version 6 installer.
The issue can be identified using SQL Management Studio. Either one of the following two methods can be used:
1. Open a Storage Platform BackupServer table and look for null entries
2. Use the following SQL query:
Select ServerName,ServerGuid,IP,ServerTypeId from BackupServer
Tip: Note the NULL for the ServerName in both cases.
To correct the issue mentioned above, run the following SQL query:
Note the following settings: Set ServerName = 'StorageServer' where ServerTypeld = '2' and ServerName is NULL
SQL Management Studio will report how many rows are affected
The Storage Platform installer can now be run again and the error should no longer be encountered.
